It has been awhile since we updated the blog. We are in our final three weeks of our term here in Trinidad. We have truely enjoyed our time here. We will return, God willing, in April 2009. Until then we will be in the USA and Canada. So long for now from the beautiful Caribbean island of Trinidad.

Thanksgiving

This is some of our friends that we had over for Thanksgiving dinner. For some, this was their first taste of American food. They all seemed to like it.

Sunday afternoon study

This is just some of the people that attended the study today. We had 17 attend. We are going to have to rent some chairs for future studies. We made two makeshift benches from blocks and boards.

Meeting place

This is where we meet for our Sunday afternoon study. The home does not have any electricity. This is what you call a squatter house. After you live there for several years, the land becomes yours.

This Little Light of Mine

Lindsey leading us in some songs. People love to sing here. It may take a few times before they get the hang of the song but when they do . . .

The eyes tell it all.

This is four of the young people that attend the new study at Carlsen Field.

Back row sitters

These three participated in the study. They had to shout to be heard. But at least they were there.

But it's not suppose to rain today!

Oh no. Black clouds come rolling in.

It's raining.

Rain was falling to the east of us as we traveled to Maracas Beach. It is really neat how you can see the rain coming from a distance.

Blue, blue Caribbean

This is the view from the top of the North Coast road on the way to Maracas Beach.

New Things

Well, we are going to attempt to post pictures on the blog site so you can see a little of what is going on here in Trinidad. Words just cannot describe what it is like here. Hopefully, we will have pictures posted on a weekly basis, so check back. Thank you one and all for your prayers and support.

Cards anyone?

Lindsey and the rest of the young people playing a card game. Looks like they are having fun.

Pretty Girls

This is Zaid and Sherry's daughter, Ruquia and her friend. It took much coaxing to get them to stop long enough to take their picture.
